I realize that CGI was probably cutting edge at the time, but it still hurt my eyes. Ultimately I appreciate substance over flash, so it was all good by the end.

Optimus just.... keeps spouting like. Cybertronian proverbs. It's like he's barely a character, and we've made that into a bit of a joke. But ugh.

I know what you mean. He's either a walking platitude or offscreen. It makes it hard to take him seriously. Or to take him in any way for that matter. Personally, I'm not all that hung up about it because he was never one of my favourites. But I know many people love him - as they should, - so I'm too rooting for some much needed dimension.

And bonus points if he can't speak for some obscure reason that makes no robot sense.

This really bothers me. Other than to earn his cute-mute status with the kids and to annoy the hell out of me, I can't phantom why Bee has to do that beep-talk. It's certainly not there to add depth to the character via a disability. Because he can clearly communicate with his fellow Cybertronians without any problems. It's only the viewers who can't understand him. Well, and the humans of course. But really, that's like... the equivalent of me not being able to speak Chinese. That's not gonna have a lasting effect on my character. So what's the point? I just don't get it.

And I hate prodigy children almost as much as I hate ridiculously obnoxious exchange students with no obvious foreign aspects.

As cliché as they are, I actually think they're not all that bad comparatively. Sure, I still hate them. But haters gonna hate. :P
